Chantal Choufani

With more than 30 years of leadership experience in insurance, reinsurance, claims management, and risk advisory, Chantal Choufani is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wide Plains Insurance Brokers (WPIB). She is widely recognised for her deep regional expertise across Lebanon, the Middle East, and Africa, where she has supported organisations in managing complex risks, structuring insurance programs, and navigating challenging claims environments.

Throughout her career, Chantal has built a strong reputation for strategic thinking, integrity, and client-centric leadership. She has led major insurance placements across diverse sectors, including construction, NGOs, financial institutions, logistics, hospitality, and telecommunications, designing tailored coverage solutions that balance protection, cost efficiency, and long-term resilience.

Before establishing WPIB, Chantal built an extensive career within brokerage and risk-management firms, where she oversaw underwriting negotiations, reinsurance arrangements, claims resolution, and corporate account management. Her hands-on experience across the full insurance lifecycle enables her to guide clients with clarity, transparency, and confidence.

Chantal holds a Master’s degree in Insurance from Université Saint-Joseph (USJ), Cercle des Dirigeants (CDD), and an Executive MBA from ESA Business School, reinforcing her strong academic and managerial foundation. She is also a graduate of the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ EMEIA Class of 2021, an international program recognising high-impact female leaders driving transformation and sustainable business growth.
